Earth's Children

Earth's Children is a non-profit organization based in Edmonton, Alberta that is interested in the needs of youth and children - working with solutions that provide hope for a bright future.

We are currently starting our Amma Haven project on the coast of Ghana. While working on projects with the orphanage in the Volta Region we realized that many of the children came from single parent mothers that could no longer provide for them. So rather than being orphans living in the orphanage they were classified as abandoned children. We decided that our next step should be to try to prevent those children from entering the orphanage in the first place. So we developed a training program to help single mothers start small businesses hoping that it will keep the families together and the children off of the street and out of the orphanages.

We are putting together a trip to start Phase 1 of our Amma Haven project. This trip will involve researching 4 site locations and meeting with Village Chiefs, Government, University students and locals to determine the best placement for Amma Haven.
