When you bid on an auction item, you're adding momentum to the groundbreaking vision of Dr. Gladys McGarey, the Mother of Holistic Medicine and author of The Well-Lived Life. Dr. Gladys died on September 28, 2024 at the age of 103.
But even at 103, Dr. Gladys spent each day working towards her 10-year plan of transforming medical care and creating a Village for Living Medicine. Now you can help manifest her vision by bidding on these keepsakes that played a part in this amazing woman's life. One hundred percent of all profits from this auction will be used to help bring about Dr. Gladys' vision.

Dr. Gladys, as she was affectionately known, was board certified in Holistic and Integrated Medicine and held a family practice for more than sixty years. She was the co-founder of the American Holistic Medical Association, (and past president), as well as the co-founder of the Academy of Parapsychology and Medicine. She was the first to utilize acupuncture in the U.S. and trained many other physicians how to use it.
Dr. Gladys Taylor McGarey’s work lives on through The Foundation for Living Medicine. The Foundation is honoring Dr. Gladys’ legacy by continuing her efforts to create a paradigm shift in medicine, replacing the current disease model with one that focuses on each individual and the wholeness of life.

Shipping
Your winning
items will be shipped after the auction closes on January 5th. Given that
there are over 150 items that may need to be shipped, it could take up to 2 weeks
for us to get them all in the mail.
If you want your item to serve as a gift, we suggest you print out your Winning Bid email and give it to your loved one as a preview of what will be coming for them.
International Shipping
If you live outside of the United States, the website will not calculate shipping prices for your item. Please choose the Pick Up in Person option during the checkout process, and then forward your Winning Bid email to Hello@GladysMcGarey.com. We will contact you to make arrangements for shipping your item.
In-Person Pickup
If you selected the In-Person Pickup option, we will send you an email when the auction closes detailing when and where you can pick up your winning items.
Refunds or Returns
All sales are final and no refunds will be given. We have done our best to present the photos and descriptions as clearly and completely as possible, but we know that we may have missed something or unintentionally misrepresented something. If that happens, we sincerely apologize. The purpose of this auction is to raise funds for Dr. Gladys' mission while also providing an opportunity for those who cherish her energy and memory to obtain a meaningful keepsake from her. If the item you received does not meet your expectations, the condolence we can offer is that the money is going to a great cause and your donation is 100% tax deductible. Please keep in mind that these items come directly from her home and heart, representing things she used and cherished, and any imperfections/stains/etc. are reflections of her use of these items.
