How does scoring a Gossamer Gear backpack or Bumster while supporting a fantastic cause sound? Pretty good, right?!
I'm on the board for a local animal rescue group (Sarge's Animal Rescue Foundation, Inc.), and the staff is starting an "Aventure Tails" program soon. The program will get adoptable dogs outside and moving more on hiking trails with trained volunteers. The longer a dog is in a shelter situation, the more behavioral issues we start seeing. I can't think of a better mental health day for a dog than to spend a day in the woods.
Sarge's needs to purchase hiking-appropriate harnesses, leashes and supplies for first aid kits. They also want to purchase a special sling/harness that would serve to carry a dog out of the woods safely if one of them got injured on a hike.
